Gemma has been a member of the Brendan Fleming team since 2011, working as part of both the Client Care Department and the Public Law Family Department. She is the legal assistant to the firm’s principal, Mr Brendan Fleming, and spends her time dealing with the new clients that approach the firm. Gemma advises and assists families who are experiencing difficulties with Social Services in the stages leading up to Court. These families may have had children removed previously and be expecting another child; some families may have entered into a voluntary arrangement with Social Services and the arrangement have broken down; and some families may have been suspected of Non-Accidental Injury. The families assisted by Gemma are wide-ranging and diverse. She also deals with any emergency matters that arise for families during the weekend or evenings. This can include difficult times where children have been removed on an emergency basis by the police. Her determination to achieve the best results for the clients has seen her successfully reuniting children with their families and avoiding the harrowing prospect of court action by Social Services.
Gemma is highly thought of by both colleagues and clients, is straight talking; and, in true Brendan Fleming style, she is committed, dedicated and always goes the extra mile for the families she is assisting.
